God and Government
A recent university of Missouri study found religion continues to impact voter decision.
Though church attendance seems to be declining, there appears to be an increase in faith driven voting.  Why do religious beliefs still inspire voters? And do government officials use this to their advantage?

The discussion today was very good. However, Rev. Newcombe was there just to shout his opinions and not to have a discussion. There are many very good conservative religious leaders who can discuss issues productively and do not need to make up facts.

I just caught the tail end of the discussion and I found Mr. Newcombe to be very controlling and unyielding disallowing the other guest to thoroughly explain their opinion. I am a Christian and strongly believe in the separation of church and state. I do believe in government by the people for the people. I do not believe in the repression of the people by forcing religion upon them. I do believe platforms or forums of public freedom of speech should be available in a free society therefore allowing people to freely hear and freely make choices. One problem with America today, as I see it, is that the religious right, dominated and opinionated by Catholic & Protestant wealthy leaders who have cut out the teachings of Jesus, want to subjugate the people into forced religion and punish all who do not conform. The American media and education systems have been seized by the wealthy religious/political/financial empire and we the people confused in propagandized need truth and justice as Jesus would condone. John 8:7, Jesus said to the leaders, scribes and pharisees, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone". I want my government to be made up of multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-talented individuals who collectively communicate and protect the needs and freedoms of the people (not corporations and banks). God save America!

I kept yelling out to Lesley Northrup, "You get 'em, girl!" What Lesley Newcombe had to say was outrageous, laughable and despicable. I applaud Lesley Northrup for standing up to him and not letting him get away with his "holier than thou" claptrap!
