Faith-based Aid in Haiti
Countless religious organizations have provided indispensable services to Haiti, before and after the recent earthquake.  But some, like the Idaho-based Baptist church group accused of kidnapping children, have run afoul of Haiti's culture and laws.  How have these child trafficking allegations affected the works of faith-based ministry in Haiti?

Watch the Dalai Lama's Day at NSU

 It was an exhausting day at NOVA Southeastern University yesterday as uVu prepared to record the His Holiness the Dalai Lama's two presentations with a short press conference sandwiched in between.  At nearly 75, Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, managed to keep up the pace, with unfailing wit and humor, despite the heavy schedule.His morning presentation on "Universal Responsibility" was delivered to students, staff and faculty from NSU and Broward College and began with His Holiness receiving an honorary Baccalaureate Degree from BC.

In the afternoon, he spoke about "The Effect of Compassion on the Global Community" and throughout the day seemed more eager to answer questions than to deliver his own addresses.  The questions ranged from the bizarre ("What does he do for fun on a visit to Florida?") to the benign ("What did he think of the competitive spirit of the Winter Olympics?") to the obvious (he was asked about the greatest influence in his live at all three session).

But there is no need to recap, you can watch all the proceedings on our website, uVu and hear from the Dalai Lama in his own words.  A footnote, Archbishop Desmond Tutu will be speaking later this week at NSU as they conclude an amazing month of events (Look for that video early next week).

Group Demands President Skip National Prayer Breakfast

In July 2009 Viewpoint aired, C Street's Influence over Politics, where the panel discussed a house on C Street in Washington, D.C. that is home to some members of Congress and is said to be a place for spiritual guidance. There were questions about this group, known as The Fellowship, and whether it was a secret organization with self-serving intentions or an innocent fellowship of Christian lawmakers seeking solace and comfort among one another. 

Now CREW, Citizens For Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is demanding that President Barack Obama skip this year's National Prayer Breakfast because it is organized by The Fellowship.
