I must say the Pepsi Musica Super Bowl Fan Jam was a success. Besides the rain that started toward the end of Paulina Rubio’s set and the sand that made its way into my shoes, car, home and bathtub, the Paulina Rubio, Pitbull and Nelly Furtado concert (which included appearances by NFL players) was enjoyed by many, myself included. We in the media where told Rubio would grace the stage at 7:19 p.m. exactly.
With setting up gear, speaking with other media members and fans piling in, I believe the concert started closer to 8 o’clock. Rubio graced the stage with her black knee-high boots and matching trench coat, which later came off to reveal her purple top which she wore while wrapping up her set. In the press tent came Rubio while Pitbull was on his way out to start his set. He showed off his suit and tie look which apparently is his staple. He performed to a loud and crazy crowd which is safe to say, included some people who were there just to see him. After belting out his not-so-subtle sexual lyrics and shaking hands with fans on his way out, Furtado came on stage with three backup singers, one of which included Gabriel Garcia. Furtado sang songs from her latest album ‘Mi Plan,’ including ‘Manos al Aire,’ ‘Mas,’ and ‘Fuerte.’ It seemed as if Furtado was on stage the longest and with good reason, most of the fans stayed until the very end of the show.
