A symposium on Darfur was presented at Nova Southeastern University on September 8th, 2009. The first night was focused on Why Darfur is Calling

The panelists discussed the history of Darfur, the current situation and the challenges in humanitarian aid in the region.

Abubakr Elnoor, DCAR doctoral student shared his personal expreinces with the conflict in Darfur and its current status.

Mark Davidheiser, Ph.D., DCAR Assistant Professor talked about the history of the conflict in Darfur.

Dustin Berna, Ph.D.,DCAR Assistant Professor discussed how not all Sudanese muslims are the same: Institutionalized genocide commited Arab Muslims against the African Muslim population.

 

Careen Hutchinson, DCAR doctoral student moderated the event.
