Machel Montano and the Culture of Soca
Soca superstar Machel Montano is in Miami this week for the Miami Broward One Carnival.  He will be honored with a cultural achievement award and will also be the parade's grand marshal.  We discuss the culture of soca, Montano’s career which spans more than 25 years, and how he has helped pave the way for a new generation of soca artists.

Introducing Jahfe
One of the many acts being featured at the Miami Music Festival in November is a South Florida band named Jahfe.  This up-and-coming band has been playing socially-conscious reggae music for the past five years.  We invited them on the program to share their musical philosophy and discuss how, if at all, the reggae genre has changed over the years.

Meet Pulse host Jessy Schuster at the WPBT2/Pulse Caribbean stage at the Miami Music Festival Saturday, November 13th!

The Miami Music Festival is a three-day, multi-stage event and emerging artists’ conference that begins November 12th and runs through November 14th.   The festival has confirmed 400+ musical performances throughout the city in a variety of genres including rock, alternative, Latin, urban, Caribbean and jazz.
