On this month's episode of Pulse, one of the segment focused on the effect of recession on Caribbean travel plans during the holidays. Many Caribbean-Americans residing in Florida tend to go back home to spend the holidays with their friends and families. But in this economy, is it still possible to have a family of four travel back home? Or is it better to wait to travel after the holidays when the prices drop tremendously?
One of our guests, Dr. Albert Williams, Professor of Economics and Finance at Nova Southeastern University
explained that tickets to Belize (where he is from) are $1,000 for Christmas, but the prices should drop to $300 in January. Percival Darby, adjunct instructor in the School of Hospitality and Management at Florida International University explained that it was due to the rule of offer and demand.
So Pulse would like to know: Will the economy affect your traveling plans for the holidays?
Well, if your Caribbean travel plans went bad, you can always think about going abroad to the Middle East - you can find there all you want and more, from cultures and religion to beaches, shopping and even nature!

It affected a lot of people's travel plans. It is a shame for both the tourist and the destination.
