Channel 2 Announces In-depth Election Coverage Throughout October
Leading up to the November 4th election, WPBT Channel 2’s weekly public affairs program, ISSUES, will devote nine comprehensive, half-hour episodes to inform the South Florida community about their choices on the November ballot. Esteemed journalist, Helen Ferre, will lead discussions and moderate debates highlighting the most significant issues facing South Floridians.
De-construct the Debates
On Friday, October 3rd, the first episode of Channel 2’s election coverage will delve into the recent Vice Presidential and Presidential debates. Local political experts chime in on the highs and the lows…and what it all means for South Florida.
Get Acquainted with the Amendments
Each Friday, from October 10th-24th, discussions will focus on the proposed Amendments to Florida’s Constitution. From Marriage Protection to Property Tax Exemptions to Funding for Community Colleges, local leaders will offer insight and lively debate to get to the heart of how these Amendments would affect our community.
Hear from Key Congressional Candidates
In mid-October, viewers will get the chance to sharpen their views of some of South Florida’s high-profile Congressional candidates, when they appear in studio for one-on-one discussions. Congressional candidates will be profiled nightly from Monday, October 13th through Thursday, October 16th.

On Friday, October 31st, host Helen Ferre will be joined by local journalists to flesh out the entire South Florida election season. They will review the big issues and provide some political predictions.
