Crist Announces Independent Run
Charlie Crist's much anticipated announcement on Thursday that he will run as an independent has further distanced him from the Republican party. Marco Rubio no longer faces a primary, while Democrats find a new contender, millionaire Jeff Greene who is challenging the current front-runner, Kendrick Meek. In what way does Crist running as an independent change the election? Who does it help and who does it hurt in the race to become Florida’s next senator?
Guests:
Hugo Arza, Esq., Law Office of Hugo P. Arza, P.A.
Steven Geller, Esq., Former State Senator
Ana Navarro, Political Consultant
Ray Ruga, CVOX Group

Friday, April 23 @ 7:30 PM
Sunday, April 25 @ 12:30 PM
ISSUE ONE: Gubernatorial Race Gap Closes
The senatorial primary race between Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio gets plenty of attention, but another important race is beginning to pick up steam. Poll figures suggest the gap between Bill McCollum and Alex Sink is getting tighter. We discuss these two gubernatorial campaigns and how they differ from the scene-stealing Senate race.
Guest:
Beth Reinhard, The Miami Herald
ISSUE TWO: Insurance Deregulation Bill in Florida Legislature
A bill in the Florida legislature to deregulate the insurance industry has stalled in Tallahassee. What does this bill propose and how will it impact homeowners’ claims?
Guest:
Julie Patel, SunSentinel
ISSUE THREE: Teen Curfew Back in Effect
The City of Miami announced recently that it will begin enforcing a teen curfew that's been on the books since 1994. Why hasn’t it been endorsed before and do teen curfews curb down on crime?

ISSUE ONE: Crist Vetoes Teacher Merit Pay Bill SB6
On Thursday, Governor Charlie Crist vetoed SB6, the controversial bill that would tie a teacher's salary to student achievement. Several Republicans in favor of the bill are now withdrawing their support for Crist's senatorial campaign. With this being Crist's second veto of a major Republican initiative this legislative session, will he run as an independent?
Guests:

Joy Reid, The Miami Herald
Joseph Uscinski, Ph.D., University of Miami
ISSUE TWO: Net Neutrality
Recently a federal appeals court ruled against the FCC and in favor of internet service providers allowing them to slow or restrict access to certain bandwidth-clogging sites. Will this ruling weaken the argument for net neutrality?
