I watched your show this evening. Very interesting, but, I found I was a bit dissappoinnted with Prof Watts(?)confidence in the private sector's ability to engaege and hopefully, have noticeable success on social issues. I think experience shows us that contrary to his assertion, it is government, not private enterprise, that has been responsible for most of this country's progress on social issues ranging from education to civil rights to environmental protection...the list goes on and on.
I am also literally amazed at your, but by no means are you alone, willingness to avoid having any of your guests address the questionable at best, record of our new governor when it comes to his own performance of his duties when he ran HCA. I think his behavior at least borders on criminal, yet no one on TV seems interested in holding this clowns' feet to the fire!! I am amazed at the voters and the media, you, in this case, ability to skirt around and ignore serious suggestions of misbehavior in our elected officials as well as our industry leaders. I think your holding him up as an example of someone who can really address medicare and medicaid issues is a stretch, to be kind. In the end, a republic, whether democratic or not requires a vigilant press and an informed electorate. Time will tell, but I don't think the citizens of this state are well served by this charlatan or by our media's willingness to turn a blind eye.
