Awww too bad I missed it already! This really looked interesting, I bet there were all kinds of priceless family heirlooms and antique furniture pieces there. Will there be another show like this one? I am located in Maryland, so taking a road trip to Miami sounds fun :-)

World War I provides a convenient starting point because of postwar changes in manufacturing techniques, as well as stylistic shifts that occurred in many of the categories covered in this book-furniture, glass, fashion, ceramics, and so forth.

This is a great show. I should have taken some things when it was in our area. It's amazing what some of this stuff is worth.

Left unprotected and exposed to normal environmental conditions, wood furniture deteriorates. There’s no disputing this. Joints separate, veneer peels, and boards split, check and warp. If conditions are bad enough, wood even rots.

I thought antiques roadshow was just a show in the uk? Suppose with a name like that though it'll be used in a lot of places.

Thanks for the post. As a furniture retailer, I had planned to join on that event but sad to say I had some important things to be done first. If this would be happen again for sure I am to join on this. My friends keep on telling me that they have a great time in joining there. It would be glad to know if when will be the next event so that I could fix my schedule earlier.

If you are seriously considering investing in antiques as a source of profit then you really should do your research. This can be considered the same as rustic living room furniture sometimes. Formal living room furniture seems to be the perfect furniture for a museum or a dusty millionaire’s mansion, but there are still houses built and decorated in the old-time manner and style.

The show made me rummage through my attic looking for the holy grail. Anyway, is the Jade collection still the highest appraisal they've ever made, or have they managed to find something much more valuable?
