WPBT2, Miami Dade College, The Center for Financial Training and HSBC will host a FREE financial workshop entitled, Your Life Your Money, Thursday, January 28th, 8:30am at the Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, Chapman Conference Center. An additional workship will be held at 6pm at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, FL.
The events provide students with hands-on exposure to ideas and strategies that will improve their personal financial know-how as well a money management skills. The appealing and experiential learning sessions will engage the students in fun and interactive activities. Duana Palmer, Credit Counselor and financial experts from HSBC will provide vital information to the students. Rodney Ward, Senior Vice President and Executive Editor of The Nightly Business Report is the Master of Ceremonies. Attendees will receive a free DVD of the program, a copy of Young Money magazine and a WPBT2 Your Life Your Money backpack. .
The workshops are outreach efforts from the WPBT2 broadcast of Your Life, Your Money. The program follows diverse young people (17-24 years) who are facing the many challenges that come with making, managing and getting the most out of money. Subjects from the broadcast included: Min Lwin, a recent college graduate starting out in Chicago; Amanda McCormick, a Florida college senior facing $30,000 of credit card debt; Tim Bouchard, a freelance graphics and web designer in Buffalo with his own business; and Maria Cortez and Rochelle James striving to build their financial futures in New York City.
