THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS

Saturday, August 29 at 9 p.m. The young, handsome, and somewhat wild Eugene Morgan wants to marry Isabel Amberson, daughter of a wealthy upper-class family.  She chooses, instead, to marry the dull and steady Wilbur Minafer.  Years later, Eugene comes back, now a mature widower and a successful automobile maker. After Wilbur dies, Eugene again asks Isabel to marry him, and she is receptive. George, Isabel’s only, and spoiled son, resents the attentions paid to his mother. He and his Aunt Fanny plot to sabotage the  Romance when disaster befalls the Ambersons.  Fun Fact:  Welles demanded that the inside of the Ambersons mansion be built as if it was a real house, with continuous rooms of four walls and ceilings. This enabled his camera to roam around the house freely and shoot from any angle.
