Art in South Florida
Through uVu, our video sharing site, WPBT/Channel 2 in Miami is trying to look at our cultural times throughout the south Florida region.
Art comes in all shapes, sizes and places. From the southernmost point of the Florida Keys to well beyond the northern boundaries of our TV viewing audience.
This past week, we had a chance to visit with a legendary icon and to visit and island shrouded in legend.
Edward Villella, the Miami City Ballet's founding artistic director and CEO, explains the three-act ballet "Jewels," which was recently presented by the troupe. Following the interview, uVu captured the rehearsal of this beautiful Balanchine masterpiece.
Then from Key West comes four stories centered around The Studios of
Key West, with profiles of three of the artists, Lisa Esposito,
Deborah Goldman and Debra Yates, artists currently involved in their
Studio Artists Program. The fourth takes a quiet moment to reflect on
the tranquil beauty of the adjoining sculpture garden.
Take a look at let us know of someone you'd liketo see on uVu, or better still, create that story yourself and share it with us.
