Broadcast Premiere of White Elephant
As baseball moves into October and the sounds of ballparks full of fans drawn to playoff caliber games echo from Anaheim to New England, with stops in New York, Philadelphia, Arizona, Cleveland, Chicago and possibly even San Diego or Colorado. It is an appropriate time to reflect on the tradition of baseball in Miami. Yes I said tradition and baseball in the same sentence.
Premiering for broadcast this week on WPBT/Channel 2 in Miami is the bittersweet story of the old Miami Stadium, the White Elephant that helped bring down a family, a neighborhood and possibly the only real dream of a home for the national pastime in Miami.
The film has run theatrically for some private audiences, but for most, this is the first chance to see this tremendously inventive retelling of the history of Miami Stadium and the back story on the family that built it. At the time of these screenings, several reviews were written in both print and online and as the film points out, sometimes opportunities only come once, so if you missed these notes at that time, use these links to get some reviews from the original theatrical release.

I hope you'll watch the film and if you have some Miami Stadium memory you'll share it here.

I enjoyed the film. It was great to see it on TV, as well as in the theatre.

Great to see this film. I went to many Orioles and Marlins games there, back in the day! What a shame they tore it down! I guess the Orange Bowl is next. Our city leaders don't really care about preserving history and that's a shame!
