From the filmmakers:
This night is meant to be a special screening for the 2007
thesis films from Miami
International University of Art & Design. Our
four films originally premiered along with a slew of other projects from
various departments of the school. As exciting as the night was, we’re all so
proud of our films that we want a night to ourselves. We’ve been working
towards this for the last three years, and working on these particular projects
since October 2006. We want this personal night because we truly believe that
we have a strong, if small, collection of films on our hands.
We are new to the entertainment industry, some of us have just graduated while others are still waiting, and we want an entrance that’s truly memorable for us. The night itself is semi-formal and we want this night to feel like an “actual” film screening. We’re starting off the night with a cocktail hour (actually half an hour), giving people enough time to arrive, relax and seat themselves. During that half hour we’ll have drinks and finger foods available for the audience. At around 8:30 we will have a short opening statement by Celine Cordona, producer of Libertad. At approximately 8:45 we'’ll screen the four short films straight through, which should take about an hour or less. We’ll wrap up with a short closing statement by, Stephanie Meyer-Senior, producer of Luchador, and invite everyone outside to enjoy food, drinks, and music. The entire event runs from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM and best of all, it's free.
For more information, contact Stephanie Meyer-Senior at 305.815.6062.
